Samuel Little: The Most Prolific Serial Killer in U.S. History
Overview
Samuel Little, also known as Samuel McDowell, was an American serial killer who was convicted of eight murders and confessed to committing 93 murders between 1970 and 2005. The Federal Bureau of Investigation's Violent Criminal Apprehension Program has confirmed his involvement in at least 60 murders, making him the most prolific serial killer in United States history by the number of confirmed victims.
Crimes
Little's modus operandi involved strangling his victims, with the exception of two who were drowned. He targeted vulnerable individuals, often women involved in prostitution or struggling with addiction. Little's ability to evade capture for decades was partly due to the misclassification of many of his victims' deaths as drug overdoses or natural causes.
