Clara Birdlong, a 44-year-old Black woman, was identified decades after her tragic death in 1977. For years, she was known only as 'Escatawpa Jane Doe,' as her skeletal remains were discovered near a highway in Jackson County, Mississippi. Authorities determined that she had been deceased for approximately three to four months before her remains were found. Birdlong was described as a small-statured woman with a distinctive gold front tooth, and she was believed to have worn a wig.
