Has anyone else been curious about the linguistic angle in Michael Edling Flaherty's case? It's such a curious detail that he was fluent in both English and Russian. I know these skills might not immediately seem relevant, but could there be something there that’s been overlooked? Maybe he was involved in something where speaking Russian played a role, or he had connections in places where Russian would be useful. Just a thought—especially because it doesn’t seem like much else has been pu... ...View Post & Comment
This is a very interesting case to me because I moved to Cascade, Idaho in 1982 almost two years after his disappearance. I got to know several of the people that knew him including his mother. He was a savant with advanced verbal and mathematical skills. His mother was Swedish, being born in Sweden so Michael spoke Swedish as well as Russian. He was a ham radio operator and had conversations with Russians. He listened to Russian broadcasts frequently. Before it was public knowledge, he identifi... ...View Post & Comment
I am so glad his remains were found and there is some measure of closure for his family. It is so important to not hike alone. That is so risky. Even for experienenced hikers. At the very least have a gps tag on you if you choose to go that route.... ...View Post & Comment
No suspects, no arrests, just a father shot down going to the store. This is senseless. ... ...View Post & Comment
It seems justice will not be served for Sarah\'s family in this case. They know who did it they just don\'t have enough evidence to indict. I hope this haunts him for the rest of his life.... ...View Post & Comment
The murderer is still at large. He needs to be found. Have they shaken all the trees? Go to cousins houses, did he go out of the country? When was he last seen? What is the narrative of how it happened? Was it an accident? A fight that got out of hand? So odd he hasn\'t been found.... ...View Post & Comment
This is another reason why property managers should take these complaints seriously. You just never know what is going to trigger someone to this level of violence. The police being called 7 times in a year is pretty excessive. Could be legitimate complaints but not always. This is why some people shouldn\'t be downstairs neighbors. They are too sensitive sound.... ...View Post & Comment
I’ve been thinking a lot about the unsolved case of B.J. Reed, especially how his family must feel not having closure after all these years. I can't imagine the pain his loved ones must endure daily, not knowing the full truth about what happened on that tragic night. I came across some local forums where people who knew B.J. described him as a hardworking and kind person who genuinely cared about others. It’s sad that we often hear so little about the victims beyond the crime itself. From w... ...View Post & Comment

I really hope at some point they excavate the crash site. This really needs to happen for the family so there can be some sense of closure. ... ...View Post & Comment
I suppose it is for the best he took his own life. It kept the families from dealing with a long drawn out trial and the media sensation this would have caused. However, it is not a satisfying ending to this saga. So many questions unanswered.... ...View Post & Comment
Hopefully this will be a cold case the authorities take a closer look at. DNA has evolved, and a fresh set of eyes would really help. This especially needs to happen before witnesses pass away due to time.... ...View Post & Comment
