On August 29, 1988, 79-year-old Versie C. Daniels was fatally struck by a stray bullet during a rolling gun battle in Tyler, Texas. The incident occurred in the 300 block of East Queen Street, where witnesses reported multiple Hispanic males engaging in a shootout from moving vehicles. Two rounds fired during the altercation penetrated a trailer home parked at 313 E. Queen Street, one of which struck Daniels, leading to her death.
