On January 24, 2007, Eric Perez, a 22-year-old resident of San Antonio, Texas, was shot and killed in a drive-by shooting while walking along the 4700 block of West Avenue around 7 p.m. Eric was struck once in the chest, and when police arrived at the scene, they found him lying unresponsive, partially on the sidewalk and partially on the street near a gas station. Despite the prompt response, Perez was pronounced dead at the scene.
