In the late summer of 2024, a distressing call broke the midday quiet in a Meridian, Mississippi neighborhood, forever altering the lives of the Stewart family. On Tuesday, August 13, at approximately 12:34 p.m., emergency services in Lauderdale County received a report that a woman had been shot at a residence on Blizzard Road. When deputies and paramedics arrived, they found 70-year-old Helen Ruth Stewart suffering from a gunshot wound.
