Murdered

On August 13, 2024, at approximately 12:34 p.m., Lauderdale County E-911 received a distress call reporting that a woman had been shot at a residence in the 9000 block of Blizzard Road in Meridian, Mississippi. Deputies and Metro Ambulance responded to the scene, where they found 70-year-old Helen Stewart with a gunshot wound. Her husband, Joseph Stewart, was present at the scene and was taken into custody.
