In the quiet community of Meridian, Mississippi, a devastating series of events unfolded, leaving a family and the town in shock. Beverly Kaiser Fulton, a 64-year-old woman, was tragically killed on December 22, 2020. Her life, along with those of her daughter and grandson, was cut short in a violent act that ended in the death of the suspect as well.

Authorities were first alerted to the tragedy when family members failed to show up for work, prompting a welfare check at their home on Jeffery Acres Road. Inside the residence, deputies discovered the bodies of Beverly's daughter, 39-year-old April Fulton Tucker, and her 14-year-old grandson, Bryce Fisher Tucker. A short time later, Beverly's body was found in a shed on the same property. The investigation quickly expanded to a second location, a home on Highway 19 South, where the fourth victim, 90-year-old Evelyn Virginia Jay, was discovered.

The suspect in the quadruple murder was identified as 40-year-old Matthew Jay Tucker. He was the husband of April Fulton Tucker, the father of Bryce Fisher Tucker, and the grandson of Evelyn Virginia Jay. Investigators believe the murders occurred sometime between the evening of December 21st and the afternoon of December 22nd. Following the discovery of the victims, law enforcement located Matthew Jay Tucker. A chase ensued, which ended when Tucker died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound in Lamar County. Records revealed that he had been arrested on a domestic violence charge in October of that year, though the case had not yet gone to court.
