Melinda Rose LaPree, a 22-year-old woman, was found murdered on October 4, 1982, in Pascagoula, Mississippi. Her body was discovered in a heavily decomposed state, making it difficult for investigators to retrieve physical evidence. LaPree had reportedly run away from home and was living in Pascagoula, where she was involved in drug use and was being exploited by her boyfriend.
