Introduction
Dean Arnold Corll, also known as the "Candy Man," was an American serial killer responsible for the abduction, torture, and murder of at least 28 boys in Houston, Texas, between 1970 and 1973. His crimes, often referred to as the Houston Mass Murders, were among the most gruesome in American history. Corll lured his victims with the help of teenage accomplices David Owen Brooks and Elmer Wayne Henley.Early Crimes and Methods
Corll's killing spree began in 1970. He would abduct teenage boys, often lured by his accomplices with the promise of parties, alcohol, or money. Once inside Corll’s house, the victims were bound, sexually assaulted, tortured, and ultimately murdered. Corlls method involved coercing his victims into his van or home, where they would be restrained, tortured, and ultimately killed. The bodies were then disposed of in various locations, including a rented boat shed and a remote beach.
