Richard Edward Hembree, a 13-year-old boy, tragically lost his life on October 3, 1972, in Houston, Texas. He was one of the victims of Dean Arnold Corll, infamously known as 'The Candy Man,' a serial killer who preyed on teenage boys and young men between 1970 and 1973. Corll, along with his accomplices David Owen Brooks and Elmer Wayne Henley, orchestrated a series of abductions, tortures, and murders that became known as the Houston Mass Murders.
