The investigation revealed that Alexus Chenelle Williams, a 29-year-old woman, was charged with three counts of capital murder in connection with the deaths of Gregory Carhee, Donyavia Lagway, and Harmony Carhee. Williams then hired Xavier Davis, a 28-year-old man, to kill the entire family, promising him any money he found in their apartment. Davis was arrested in early July on three counts of capital murder and one count of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
During the investigation, it was discovered that Williams may have watched the murders via FaceTime, possibly even speaking to the victims before they were killed. The evidence against Williams included long text messages between her and Davis on the day of the crime. Davis allegedly lined up the family members on the couch before shooting them in the head. The couple's 10-year-old daughter, who was critically wounded, managed to care for her 1-year-old brother and call for help after the assailant left.
