Dr. No: The Elusive Serial Killer of the Midwest

Overview

Between 1981 and 1990, a series of brutal murders haunted the Midwest, primarily in Ohio. The perpetrator, dubbed "Dr. No," targeted young women, many of whom were sex workers operating at truck stops along major interstates. The moniker "Dr. No" originated from reports that the killer used this handle over CB radio to lure his victims. Despite extensive investigations, the true identity of Dr. No remains unconfirmed.

Modus Operandi

Dr. No's victims were predominantly women working as prostitutes at truck stops, especially those along Interstate 71. The killer often contacted these women via CB radio, using the alias "Dr. No." Victims were typically found beaten and strangled, with personal items like jewelry and clothing missing. Many bodies were discovered near major interstates, suggesting the killer was familiar with these routes, possibly indicating a profession involving frequent travel, such as trucking.
