Overview
Ricardo Silvio Caputo, also known as "The Lady Killer," was an Argentine-American serial killer active during the 1970s. Born in Mendoza, Argentina, in 1949, Caputo moved to the United States in 1970. His crimes spanned across New York, California, and Mexico. Known for his charm and manipulative nature, Caputo left a trail of tragedy before surrendering to authorities in 1994. He died of a heart attack in 1997 while incarcerated at Attica State Prison in New York.
Victims
- Nathalie Brown: A 19-year-old from Flower Hill, New York, murdered in 1971. Caputo was declared mentally incompetent to stand trial for her murder and later escaped from a psychiatric facility.
- Judith Becker: A 26-year-old psychologist from Yonkers, New York, killed in 1974. She had previously treated Caputo.
- Barbara Ann Taylor: A 28-year-old from San Francisco, California, murdered in 1975.
- Laura Gomez: A young woman from Mexico City, killed in 1977.
