Christopher Angelo Wilkes, aged 21, died on December 19, 2016, in Columbus, Ohio, after being shot by a security guard. The incident occurred on December 8, 2016, at Park Trails Apartments on the Far Southeast Side of Columbus. According to reports, the security guard, who was assisting a woman who claimed that Wilkes had assaulted her, fired at Wilkes after he allegedly tried to run him down with his vehicle. Wilkes was struck in the upper body and later died at Grant Medical Center. The guard cooperated with the investigation and no charges were filed.
