On May 23, 2014, 52-year-old African American male Donald Jerome Wade, affectionately known as 'Little Man,' was shot at 1285 E. 17th Avenue in the South Linden neighborhood of Columbus, Ohio. He succumbed to his injuries the following day, May 24, 2014, at the OSU Wexner Medical Center. Wade was a dedicated auto mechanic with a 40-year career and was deeply cherished by his family and community.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Wade; his mother, Diana Wade; multiple children, including sons Demario Dailey, Donald Jr., and Donald Cowan; daughters Remona Hester, Tira Wade, Carla and Carlena Hester, Katrina, and Kaira Cowan; as well as several siblings and grandchildren.
In the immediate aftermath of the shooting, a warrant was issued for 25-year-old Julian Phillips in connection with the homicide. However, specific details regarding Phillips's arrest, charges, or conviction remain unclear based on publicly available information.
