Early Life and Background
Kenneth Allen McDuff, born on March 21, 1946, in Rosebud, Texas, was an American serial killer known as "The Broomstick Killer." Raised in a privileged household, McDuff displayed violent tendencies from a young age. His criminal record began with burglaries before escalating to murder.
The Broomstick Murders
On August 6, 1966, McDuff, along with accomplice Roy Dale Green, committed the infamous "Broomstick Murders." The victims were:
- Robert Brand: Shot in the head.
- Marcus Dunnam: Shot in the head.
- Edna Louise Sullivan: Raped and strangled with a broomstick.
The crime occurred in Texas, and McDuff was sentenced to death. However, his sentence was commuted to life imprisonment in 1972 due to changes in death penalty laws.
Parole and Subsequent Crimes
McDuff was paroled in 1989, leading to a new spree of violence. Between 1989 and 1992, he raped and murdered multiple women. Some of his victims included:
