Leslie Allen Williams
Background and Criminal History
Leslie Allen Williams, born on July 4, 1953, in Detroit, Michigan, is an American serial killer who committed a series of violent crimes in southern Michigan during the early 1990s. Williams had a long history of criminal activity dating back to his youth, including multiple arrests for breaking and entering and a 1983 conviction for the sexual assault of a woman in her home. Despite his history, he was granted parole in 1990 after serving eight years of a 20-year sentence. His release became a subject of significant controversy and criticism regarding the effectiveness of the Michigan parole system.
The Murders
Following his release on parole, Williams began a spree of kidnappings, sexual assaults, and murders targeting teenage girls. Between September 1991 and January 1992, he murdered four victims. In each instance, Williams abducted the victims, raped them, and subsequently buried them in shallow, secluded graves. His crimes were uncovered following his arrest on May 24, 1992, for the attempted kidnapping and sexual assault of another woman at a cemetery. While in custody, he confessed to the murders and led investigators to the burial sites of his victims.
