Robert Leroy Biehler: A Detailed Account of His Crimes

Early Criminal Activities

Robert Leroy Biehler's criminal history began on February 25, 1956, when he, along with Louis Evangelisti and Kay G. Mills, broke into the Pasadena home of Paul and Marguerite Troutner. The trio threatened the couple, tied them up, and stole $1,500 in cash and valuables. Their subsequent arrest led to short prison sentences for each. After his release in the late 1950s, Biehler engaged in various crimes, including a 1960 bank burglary in which he and his associates stole $10,000. This crime resulted in another prison term at the California Institution for Men, from which he was paroled in August 1966.

Escalation to Murder

On December 22, 1966, fearing exposure of his involvement in a prostitution ring, Biehler murdered Julia Cook and her 15-year-old son, Kenneth, in their North Hollywood home. Despite initial arrests, lack of evidence led to the release of Biehler and his acquaintance, Morton Molin. Biehler was subsequently jailed for parole violations.

Further Killings

After his early 1970s parole, Biehler resumed criminal activities. On October 14, 1973, he killed Michael Rodney Coveny over a missed drug debt, burying the body in Angeles National Forest.
