In the early morning hours of Wednesday, November 1, 2023, the life of 36-year-old Julius McCree, a Black male from Southeast Washington, D.C., was tragically cut short. At approximately 3:19 a.m., officers from the Metropolitan Police Department's Sixth District responded to reports of gunfire in the 3900 block of Southern Avenue, Southeast, an area near the border with Prince George's County, Maryland.
