In the early morning hours of Saturday, April 23, 2022, the life of 38-year-old Earnest Ray Thompson III, a male resident of Northwest, D.C., was tragically cut short. At approximately 5:13 a.m., officers from the Metropolitan Police Department's Fourth District were dispatched to the 700 block of Morton Street, Northwest, following a report of a shooting. Upon their arrival, they discovered Thompson suffering from grave injuries, having been both shot and stabbed multiple times.
