Gerald Parker, infamously known as the "Bedroom Basher," was a brutal serial killer who terrorized Orange County, California during the late 1970s. A former Marine, Parker committed a series of horrific crimes involving rape and murder. It wasn’t until decades later that DNA evidence conclusively tied him to the string of killings, finally bringing justice to the victims and their families.

Crimes and Modus Operandi

Parker's crimes were characterized by vicious nighttime attacks. He would typically break into women’s homes at night and bludgeon them with blunt objects—often household items like hammers or blunt ends of weapons. The crimes involved brutal beatings and sexual assault. His victims were predominantly young women living alone or returning home late. The assaults were so violent that many of the women died from head trauma.

• Dianna Green – Attacked on December 1, 1978, in Costa Mesa, CA. She was beaten and raped with a blunt object. She died of severe head trauma.
• Kimberly Rawlins – Killed on December 30, 1978, in Costa Mesa. She was 21 years old and had just returned home when Parker attacked. She was sexually assaulted and beaten to death.
• Debra Senior – Murdered on January 11, 1979, in Anaheim. She was raped and beaten to death with a hammer.
• Sandra Fry – Attacked on April 1, 1979, in Anaheim. Another brutal killing involving blunt force trauma. She was 17 years old and died in her home.
• Kimberly Gaye "Kym" Pappas – Killed on October 20, 1979, in Tustin, CA. She had just moved into her new apartment. Parker assaulted and murdered her in a similar fashion to his previous victims.
• Margaret Rohrbough – Attacked on December 2, 1979, in Costa Mesa. She was raped and bludgeoned. Her case remained unsolved for years until DNA evidence linked Parker to the crime.
