Elias Abuelazam: The Flint Serial Stabber
Background
Elias Abuelazam, born on August 29, 1976, is an Israeli-American convicted murderer and suspected serial killer. Standing at 6 feet 5 inches tall and weighing 280 pounds, Abuelazam became notorious for a series of stabbings that terrorized multiple states in the summer of 2010.
The Attacks
Between May and August 2010, Abuelazam is suspected of carrying out 18 stabbing attacks, resulting in five deaths. The majority of these attacks occurred in Genesee County, Michigan, particularly in and around Flint. However, his reign of terror extended beyond Michigan, with three stabbings in Leesburg, Virginia, one in Toledo, Ohio, and even one in his native Ramla, Israel.
Abuelazam's modus operandi was consistent. He would drive around late at night in a green Chevrolet TrailBlazer, targeting small-framed men who were walking alone. He would approach his victims, asking for directions or help with his vehicle, before suddenly attacking them with a knife, usually stabbing them in the chest or stomach.
