Serial Killer: Heather Irene Pressdee
Early Life
Heather Irene Pressdee was born on August 28, 1982, to Michael and Bonita Pressdee. She was the eldest of two children. Between 2003 and 2004, she attended the Community College of Allegheny County but did not graduate. Initially, she became a registered veterinary technician before pursuing a nursing career.
Crimes
Pressdee, a registered nurse, committed a series of heinous crimes between 2020 and 2023 across multiple nursing facilities in Western Pennsylvania. She administered lethal doses of insulin to patients, many of whom were not diabetic, resulting in numerous deaths. Her actions spanned five nursing homes:
- Concordia at Rebecca Residence in West Deer
- Belair Healthcare and Rehabilitation (Guardian) in Lower Burrell
- Quality Life Services – Chicora
- Premier Armstrong Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Kittanning
- Sunnyview Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Butler
Pressdee often administered the insulin during overnight shifts when staffing was low, ensuring that emergencies would not prompt immediate hospitalization. She claimed that she believed she was ending the suffering of her victims by her actions.
