Investigation and Suspect

During the investigation, Allen Gormely Jr., a resident of Long Beach, emerged as a prime suspect. Born on September 18, 1953, in Brooklyn, Gormely Jr. was the only son among multiple daughters. After dropping out of high school, he trained as a carpenter but struggled to find work in that field. Instead, he worked in various establishments, including strip clubs, nightclubs, sex stores, and pornographic film sales stores in New York City's suburbs. He also worked as a trucker for a Brooklyn-based company. Despite his frequent presence in red-light districts, Gormely had no prior criminal record before 1990. On November 8, 1990, Gormely was arrested for the murders of two prostitutes in Queens: 19-year-old Stephanie Krut and 25-year-old Mayra Eusebio, killed on February 10 and October 30, 1990, respectively. Gormely confessed to strangling both women in his Long Beach apartment after disputes over money for drugs. He disposed of their bodies in plastic garbage bags, dumping them on the outskirts of town, a method similar to the Nassau County murders. However, due to insufficient evidence, he was not charged with the Nassau County cases. In 1992, Gormely was convicted of the murders of Krut and Eusebio and sentenced to 50 years in prison. He died in the Wende Correctional Facility on September 28, 2014, without being charged for the Nassau County murders. ...Read More
