Background

Alexander Hernandez, born on May 12, 1980, is an American serial killer who terrorized the Los Angeles Metropolitan area with a series of drive-by shootings between March and August 2014. Known as "The Valley Killer," Hernandez targeted random people and dogs, resulting in five deaths, eleven injuries, and the killing of two dogs. He was convicted of his crimes and sentenced to life imprisonment without the possibility of parole.

Hernandez's crime spree began on March 14, 2014, and continued until his arrest on August 24, 2014. His attacks were random and brutal, leaving a trail of fear and devastation in their wake.

• Sergio Sanchez: Shot and killed on March 14, 2014, while driving on the 210 Freeway in Sylmar.
• Unidentified Man: Injured on April 27, 2014, while sitting in his car parked in front of a Pacoima apartment building.
• 19-Year-Old Man: Shot on May 11, 2014, during a car-to-car shooting in Northridge, leaving him partially paralyzed.
• Unidentified Man: Wounded on June 15, 2014, after being shot in the arm on the 210 Freeway.
• 42-Year-Old Woman: Shot and wounded on August 20, 2014, in Atwater Village as she exited the 5 Freeway.
• Gildardo Morales: Fatally shot on August 21, 2014, while driving to work in Pacoima.
• Franco Family: Targeted on August 24, 2014, while driving to church, but escaped unharmed.
