On the evening of December 3, 2020, a trip to a local convenience store in Clinton, Iowa, turned fatal for 26-year-old Cedrick Hood, a Black / African American male. Hood had accompanied a female friend and her son to the Hop-N-Shop on South Fourth Street. While his friend and her son went inside the store to use the ATM and buy food, Hood remained in the driver's seat of their parked Saturn Outlook.
