Gregory Green: A History of Familial Homicide

First Marriage and Initial Crime

Gregory Vincente Green, born on December 10, 1966, in Michigan, had a seemingly ordinary upbringing. Details about his early life remain scarce, but his adult years were marked by extreme violence. In the early 1990s, Green married Tonya Clayton, who had two children from a previous relationship and was pregnant with their child. On July 14, 1991, in their Detroit home, Green attacked Tonya with a steak knife, stabbing her ten times in the neck, cheek, chest, and back. She was six months pregnant at the time. After the attack, Green calmly called 911, confessed, and awaited the authorities' arrival.

Imprisonment and Parole

In 1992, Green pleaded no contest to second-degree murder and was sentenced to 15 to 25 years in prison. Despite a lack of remorse and attempts to shift blame onto Tonya, he maintained a relatively clean prison record. Family members, friends, and even corrections officers advocated for his release, believing he had changed. Notably, Pastor Fred Harris, a longtime acquaintance, wrote multiple letters to the parole board supporting Green's release. After being denied parole four times, Green was released in 2008 for good behavior.

Second Marriage and Familial Tensions

In 2010, two years after his release, Green married Faith Harris, Pastor Harris's daughter. Faith had two children from a previous marriage: Chadney and Kara Allen. Together, Faith and Gregory had two daughters, Koi and Kaleigh Green. However, by 2013, Faith sought a personal protection order against Gregory, citing his threatening behavior.
