Tonya Clayton Green, a young African American woman, was tragically murdered on July 14, 1991, in Detroit, Michigan. At the time of her death, she was six months pregnant. Her husband, Gregory Green, was responsible for the brutal attack that ended her life. The crime was particularly heinous—Gregory stabbed Tonya ten times with a steak knife, inflicting wounds to her neck, back, chest, and cheek. The attack resulted in the deaths of both Tonya and her unborn child.
