Kamiya LaShawn French, a 2-year-old girl from Inkster, Michigan, tragically lost her life on July 1, 2014, in a brutal shooting that shocked the community. Kamiya was playing outside a public housing complex on Carlyle Street when she was shot in the head at point-blank range. The shooter then turned the gun on her father, Kenneth French, and a 12-year-old relative, Chelsea Lancaster, both of whom were also injured in the attack.
