On a tragic evening in Detroit, a 30-year-old mother's life was cut short in a devastating act of domestic violence. Desiree Mitchell was fatally shot by her 34-year-old boyfriend in what police have described as a murder-suicide. The incident unfolded on the city's east side in the 20200 block of Schoenherr Road, where Desiree was pronounced dead at the scene. Her boyfriend later succumbed to a self-inflicted gunshot wound at a local hospital.
