On April 10, 2000, the body of 31-year-old Monica Johnson, an African American woman, was discovered near Interstate 94 in Detroit. Monica, a mother of four, had been strangled and left unconscious at the scene. Despite efforts to save her, she succumbed to her injuries. Her death was part of a series of murders targeting local women during that period.
