- June 7, 1980: Linda Aguilar (21), who was four months pregnant, was abducted from a beach in Oregon. She was raped and killed.
- July 27, 1980: Virginia Mochel (34) was kidnapped from a bar in West Sacramento, California. She was sexually assaulted and murdered.

Apprehension and Conviction
The Gallegos were apprehended on November 17, 1980, after a witness reported their vehicle's license plate number to the police.
