Crimes and Arrest
Lewis Lent's criminal activities came to light after his failed attempt to abduct Rebecca Savarese on January 7, 1994. Becky, who was walking to school, encountered Lent at a busy intersection. He pointed a gun at her and ordered her to get into his truck. Becky cleverly faked an asthma attack and fled, providing the police with crucial information that led to Lent's arrest.
During his interrogation, Lent confessed to the murders of Jimmy Bernardo and Sara Anne Wood. He was sentenced to life in prison without parole for Jimmy's murder in Massachusetts in 1995 and received an additional 25 years to life for Sara's murder in New York in 1997.
