Early Life

Kendall Francois was born on July 26, 1971, in Poughkeepsie, New York. He attended Arlington High School, where he participated in football and wrestling. After graduating in 1989, Francois enlisted in the U.S. Army and completed basic training at Fort Sill, Oklahoma, in 1990. Following his military service, he enrolled at Dutchess Community College in 1993 and later worked as a hall and detention monitor at Arlington Middle School from 1996 to 1997. Despite his outwardly normal life, Francois harbored a dark and violent side that would soon come to light.

The Murders

Between 1996 and 1998, Kendall Francois embarked on a horrifying killing spree in Poughkeepsie, targeting women involved in sex work. His modus operandi typically involved soliciting his victims, bringing them to his family home at 99 Fulton Avenue, engaging in sexual acts, and then strangling them to death. Shockingly, Francois lived in the house with his parents and sister, who were reportedly unaware of the gruesome activities occurring within their residence. The bodies of his victims were concealed in various parts of the house, including the attic and crawl spaces, leading to a pervasive and foul odor that neighbors and visitors occasionally noticed.

Victims

• Wendy Meyers (30) – Disappeared on October 24, 1996. Her body was later discovered in Francois's home.
• Gina Barone (29) – Went missing on November 29, 1996. Her remains were found alongside other victims in the house.
• Catherine "Cathy" Marsh (31) – Disappeared in late 1996. Her body was among those recovered from Francois's residence.
• Kathleen Hurley (47) – Last seen in early 1997. Her remains were discovered during the investigation.
• Mary Healy Giaccone (29) – Went missing in November 1997. Her body was found in Francois's home.
• Sandra Jean French (51) – Disappeared in June 1998. Her remains were among those recovered.
• Audrey Pugliese (34) – Went missing in August 1998. Her body was found during the search of Francois's residence.
• Catina Newmaster (25) – Disappeared on August 26, 1998. Her remains were discovered in the house.
