Background

Lorenzo Fayne, born on April 2, 1971, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, is an American serial killer and rapist. Between 1989 and 1993, he murdered one woman and five children in the states of Wisconsin and Illinois. In 2001, he was convicted and sentenced to death, but the following year, the Governor of Illinois, George Ryan, commuted all death sentences to life imprisonment due to concerns about miscarriages of justice.

Crimes

Fayne's crimes were brutal and heinous. He targeted young children and a young woman, committing acts of rape and murder. His victims were:

• Faith Davis, 17 years old, murdered on July 23, 1993, in East St. Louis, Illinois.

Apprehension and Conviction

Fayne was apprehended on July 24, 1993, after being identified by witnesses in the murder of Faith Davis. Bloodstains found on his clothes and at his home linked him to the crime.
