Overview

The Storyville Slayer is the nickname given to an unidentified serial killer who operated in New Orleans, Louisiana, during the 1990s. The killer is believed to have murdered at least 12 women, primarily targeting African-American women, between 1991 and 1996. The victims were often strangled, beaten, or drowned, and their bodies were disposed of in isolated locations such as swamps, rivers, and canals near Lake Pontchartrain. The case remains unsolved, and investigators suspect there may have been more than one perpetrator involved.

• Danielle Britton, 17 – August 4, 1991: Found beaten and strangled in a ditch near Algiers, New Orleans. Last seen in a bar with an unidentified man.
• Tyra Tassin, 21 – September 3, 1991: Discovered deceased in New Orleans. Mother of three with a prior drug possession record.
• Charlene Price, 28 – September 22, 1991: Found beaten and strangled in a park, one mile from Britton's location. Had a history of drug abuse.
• Regina Oko, 37 – November 21, 1991: Discovered strangled; had multiple arrests for prostitution and was a mother of three.
• Jane Doe No. 1 – December 14, 1991: Skeletal remains of a young African-American woman in her early twenties, found in a ditch near a highway.
• Lydia Madison, 29 – January 4, 1992: Found strangled in a ditch under a highway overpass. Had prior arrests for prostitution and drug possession.
• George Williams, 25 – June 2, 1992: A transgender woman and exotic dancer, discovered strangled in the LaBranche Wetlands area. Had prior arrests for robbery and drug possession.
• Noah "Brenda Bewitch" Philson, 33 – July 25, 1992: A transgender individual and exotic dancer, found naked in a canal off Interstate 55 north of LaPlace.
• Regetter Martin, 29 – September 21, 1992: Mother of three with prior arrests for prostitution; found near an interstate in Botte, Louisiana.
• Cheryl Lewis, 30 – February 20, 1993: Mother of four, known prostitute; found strangled in a canal along Louisiana 3160 in Hahnville. Last seen four weeks prior, reportedly dragged into a car by a man.
• Delores Mack, 42 – February 21, 1993: Found strangled 800 feet from where Lewis's body was discovered.
• Jane Doe No. 2, 25-35 – February 5, 1994: Half-nude, found raped and strangled in St. John the Baptist Parish.
• Jane Doe No. 3, 15-17 – February 10, 1994: Found near Airline Highway in Gramercy; body partially burned, cause of death asphyxiation.
• Stephanie Murray, 25 – February 13, 1994: Discovered in a small pond in the Bonnet Carré Spillway; cause of death unspecified.
• Jane Doe No. 4, 25-35 – February 15, 1994: Details unavailable.
• John Doe – April 2, 1994: Male body found alongside an unidentified female (Jane Doe No. 5); no further details.

Modus Operandi

The Storyville Slayer primarily targeted women of African-American descent, many of whom were involved in prostitution or had histories of drug abuse. The victims were often lured into vehicles, attacked, and then disposed of in remote locations.
