Overview
The "Bigfoot Killer," also known as "The Cass Ripper," is the moniker given to an unidentified American serial killer responsible for the brutal murders of seven women in Detroit, Michigan, during 1975. Operating primarily in the Cass Corridor neighborhood, the killer targeted vulnerable women engaged in prostitution, instilling fear throughout the community.Modus Operandi
The perpetrator selected victims between the ages of 16 and 43, all of whom were involved in prostitution. He approached them in a beige Oldsmobile, offering $15 for sexual services. Once the victims were in his vehicle, he threatened them with a knife, subjected them to physical assault, rape, and sodomy, and ultimately strangled them. Witnesses described the assailant as a tall, muscular African-American man, approximately 30 to 35 years old, with facial hair and an afro hairstyle. Notably, he was believed to suffer from acromegaly, a condition causing enlarged hands and feet, which led to his nickname, "Bigfoot."Victims
