- October 20, 1973: Richard Hague, 30, and his wife, Quita Hague, 28, were abducted at gunpoint while walking near their home in Telegraph Hill. Quita was nearly decapitated, and Richard was severely beaten.
- October 30, 1973: Frances Rose, 28, was shot multiple times in her car near the University of California Extension. Jessie Lee Cooks was identified as the shooter and arrested shortly after.
- November 9, 1973: Robert Wayne Stoeckmann, 27, was shot by Leroy Doctor while on duty as a field clerk for Pacific Gas and Electric Company.
- January 28, 1974: Tana Smith and Jane Holly were murdered by Cooks' accomplices, Manuel Moore and J.C.X. Simon.
- April 14, 1974: Ward Anderson and Terry White were assaulted by Manuel Moore.
Conviction
In May 1974, Jessie Lee Cooks, along with Larry Craig Green, Manuel Moore, and J.C.X. Simon, was indicted for conspiracy to commit murder and various other charges. They were all convicted of first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit first-degree murder, resulting in life imprisonment.
