Crime Spree

Robinson and Scott's criminal activities in 1983 included several brutal murders:

• July 10, 1983: Linda Toni Lansen, a 41-year-old freelance photographer, was found raped and shot multiple times in the Town 'n' Country area near Tampa, Florida. Her body was discovered in a ditch by a jogger the following morning.
• August 18, 1983: Barbara Grams, a 19-year-old woman, was attacked while walking home from work in Tampa Heights. She was beaten to death and sexually assaulted. Her body was found behind a dental office the next morning.
• September 5, 1983: Hermenia Castro, a 55-year-old woman, was found shot and placed in the trunk of a car, which was then set on fire in East Tampa. Robinson and another man were initially charged in this case, but the charges were dismissed due to a lack of evidence.
• October 22, 1983: Carlos Orellana, a 33-year-old office manager, was kidnapped, robbed, beaten, and run over with his own car in Oldsmar, Florida. Robinson and Scott were convicted of this murder and initially sentenced to death, later commuted to life imprisonment.
