Melvin David Rees: The Sex Beast
Overview
Melvin David Rees, also known as "The Sex Beast," was an American serial killer who committed a series of brutal murders between 1957 and 1959. His crimes took place in Maryland and Virginia, and he was eventually convicted for five murders, although he is suspected of having committed more.
Crimes
Rees's first known murder occurred on June 26, 1957, when he killed Margaret Harold near Annapolis, Maryland. He forced her car off the road and shot her in front of her boyfriend, who survived the attack.
In January 1959, Rees murdered the Jackson family near Fredericksburg, Virginia. The victims included Carroll Jackson, his wife Mildred, and their two daughters, Susan and Janet.
