On January 11, 1959, four-year-old white female Susan Anne Jackson, along with her family, was abducted in a harrowing crime that shocked the region. Susan, her parents Carroll and Mildred Jackson, and her younger sister Janet were returning home to Fredericksburg, Maryland, after visiting relatives in Virginia.
