In a case that sent shockwaves through the community, four-year-old Susan Anne Jackson, a white female, was tragically killed after being abducted with her family on January 11, 1959. The harrowing ordeal began as Susan, her parents Carroll and Mildred Jackson, and her younger sister Janet were returning to their Fredericksburg, Maryland, home after a visit with relatives in Virginia.
