Overview
On April 3, 1995, 28-year-old James Daniel Simpson entered the Walter Rossler Company, a refinery inspection firm in Corpus Christi, Texas, and fatally shot five people—his former boss, the boss’s wife, and three employees—before turning the gun on himself. The massacre occurred at the former workplace of Simpson, who had resigned in September 1994. Armed with a legally purchased Ruger 9 mm semiautomatic pistol and a .32-caliber revolver, Simpson carried out the shootings in a methodical and deliberate manner, entering through the front door, shooting the victims at close range, exiting via the back door, and then committing suicide behind the building.
