Overview
On February 26, 2018, 27-year-old George Anthony Davis Jr., a recent parolee, carried out a deadly spree on Detroit’s west side that left four people dead across two locations before he fled into Ohio and died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The first attack occurred at a Sunoco gas station in the 22000 block of Fenkell Avenue near Beaverland Street, followed minutes later by a shooting at a home on Faust Avenue. Shortly before 10 a.m., Davis pulled into the Sunoco and got into an argument with the mother of his child, who was seated in an SUV. He drew a handgun and opened fire. Three people were fatally shot at the scene: the woman, her father (a well-known church deacon), and a neighbor they were giving a ride to work. Witnesses reported that Davis returned to his car to reload or retrieve another handgun before continuing the attack.Second Crime Scene (Faust Ave.)
Minutes after the gas station shooting, Davis drove about two miles to the 15100 block of Faust Avenue, where he entered his cousin’s home and shot him multiple times.
