On a cold February morning in Detroit, the lives of a family and community were irrevocably shattered by a senseless act of violence. Ciera Bargaineer, a 24-year-old woman, was tragically killed on February 26, 2018, in a shooting that also claimed the lives of her father and a family friend. Ciera, a new mother to a two-month-old baby boy, was shot while sitting in a vehicle at a Sunoco gas station on the city's west side.
