Marcos Chavez Gonzalez — 2009 Mount Airy, North Carolina Quadruple Homicide
Overview
On November 1, 2009 four men were shot and killed in the parking lot of Woods TV, a television retail store on Worth Street in downtown Mount Airy, North Carolina. Police identified the suspect as 29-year-old Marcos Chavez Gonzalez. Investigators said the victims and the suspect were acquainted, and the shooting was not random.
The Attack
Mount Airy police were called around 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, November 1, 2009. Two victims died at the scene; two others died shortly after at Northern Surry Hospital. Authorities stated that a single high-powered assault rifle was used and that approximately 16 shots were fired.
