Overview
On the morning of March 25, 2006 28-year-old Kyle Aaron Huff carried out a mass shooting at a rave after-party in Seattle’s Capitol Hill neighborhood, killing six people and wounding two before dying by suicide as police arrived. The crime—Seattle’s deadliest since the 1983 Wah Mee massacre—unfolded at a residence near 22nd Ave E and E Republican St after attendees had left a zombie-themed rave called “Better Off Undead” at the Capitol Hill Arts Center (CHAC).Timeline of Events — March 25, 2006
In the early hours following the CHAC event, Huff was invited to an after-party at a house located at 2112 E. Republican Street, Seattle. Shortly after 7:00 a.m., he briefly left, returned to his truck, and retrieved a Winchester 1300 Defender 12-gauge pump shotgun, a Ruger P944 .40-caliber semi-automatic pistol, and bandoliers with hundreds of rounds. He then re-entered the property and began shooting victims on the porch and inside the home. As officer Steve Leonard arrived and commanded Huff to drop his weapon, Huff fatally shot himself on the front steps.Location
