Michael Salas and the 2004 Deltona “Xbox Murders”
Overview
On August 6, 2004, four men—Troy Victorino, Jerone Hunter, Robert Cannon, and Michael Salas—broke into a home on Telford Lane in Deltona, Florida, and murdered six people in what became known as the Deltona massacre or the “Xbox murders.” Investigators determined the assailants used baseball bats and a blade (described in court records as a machete/knife) during a revenge-motivated home invasion. Location
The crime occurred at 3106 Telford Lane, Deltona, Volusia County, Florida. It remains the deadliest mass murder in county history.

Authorities said the primary motive was retaliation against resident Erin Belanger, who had recently evicted Victorino from her grandmother’s house and boxed up belongings he claimed—including an Xbox console and clothing. Witness statements described the group obtaining bats beforehand and voicing plans to “bash” victims.
