Robert Wayne Harris – Mass Murderer (2000)

Background

Robert Wayne Harris, born February 28, 1972, in Dallas County, Texas, experienced severe trauma early in life when he witnessed his father kill his mother and then commit suicide. Following this, he was raised by relatives, developed a stutter, and struggled academically, dropping out in ninth grade before later obtaining his GED.

Criminal History

Harris had a troubled youth and early adulthood, marked by violent behavior. At age 15, he assaulted a mall clerk and violently attacked his aunt with a hammer. He went through juvenile correction and later began drug dealing. In 1991, he committed multiple burglaries, resulting in prison time. He was paroled in 1999 after serving these sentences.
