On July 3, 2023, 58-year-old Youa Vue Khang was fatally shot by her husband, 68-year-old Tou Pao Khang, in the parking lot of Shingle Creek Crossing shopping center in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota. Witnesses reported that the couple had been arguing inside a store before the incident. After exiting to the parking lot, Tou opened the car door for Youa and then shot her before taking his own life.
