In the early morning hours of February 28, 2021, a Minneapolis street became the final scene in the life of 29-year-old Shamso Mohamed Gedi-Abdi, a Black female from St. Paul. At approximately 6:22 a.m., police responded to a report of a shooting on Logan Avenue North, where they discovered Gedi-Abdi lying face down in the street. Rushed to a nearby hospital, she succumbed to a gunshot wound to the abdomen a few hours later.
